The Legacy Of Japan's Pro Wrestling Icon Mitsuharu Misawa

By Ross Everett

Mitsuharu Misawa died in Hiroshima, Japan earlier this year less than a week before his 47th birthday. Akitoshi Saito hit a back suplex on Misawa, which appeared to knock him unconscious. Medical staff attempted to revive him in the ring, but when CPR failed he was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Initial reports in the Japanese media suggest that he was pronounced dead at the hospital, but a number of eyewitness accounts have speculated that he may have died in the ring.

There's at least a small bit of solace in the fact that he died in the ring doing what he loved, and what he did better than just about anyone on the planet. Misawa's last moments were spent working the kind of brutally stiff, athletically realistic match that got a generation hooked on Japanese wrestling.

A top level amateur wrestler in high school, his skill gained the attention of All Japan Pro Wrestling president Shohei Giant Baba. He made his professional debut in'81, and got his first big break in'84 when he was chosen as the second Tiger Mask replacing Satoru Sayama. In'90, he had his longtime tag team partner (and occasional rival) Toshiaki Kawada unmask him.

Misawa would wrestle as himself from then on, and become an even bigger star in the process. In June,'90 he became one of the top stars in All Japan Pro Wrestling when he defeated Jumbo Tsuruta. That match was his first main event appearance at the famous Nippon Budokan. He soon faced Triple Crown Champion Stan Hansen in an unsuccessful challenge for the title, and would become the biggest star in Japanese pro wrestling for the next decade.

He had legendary battles against Kawada, Hansen, Kenta Kobashi, and Steve Dr. Death Williams in singles competition. Misawa would continue as a mainstay in AJPW until the early part of this decade. After the death of Giant Baba, he left to establish Pro Wrestling NOAH. He would serve as the companys president while wrestling a full time schedule until his untimely death.

Japanese pro wrestling served as a gateway drug for many into shoot fight sports and MMA. Before the Internet, fans would trade videotapes to stay up on the latest matches from Japan and along with Jushin Thunder Liger and The Great Muta Keiji Mutoh it safe to say that Misawa is one of the wrestlers most responsible for getting a generation of American fans hooked on the product. For American fans at the time"and with the WWE at its creative low point"the All Japan and New Japan Pro Wrestling product was nothing short of a revelation.

We have but one environment and we should all be doing at least a bit in helping to conserve national parks and understanding solar power is the initial step in to be able to make some type of difference to our world.

Solar Energy Facts That Can produces a Difference

1. Solar cells or solar radiation is the energy that we can use to make alternative sources of power. We can take the potency of the sun and employ it for many different functions such as powering our homes or heating our pools. The technology of generating power from the sun is quickly advancing and it'll soon be used worldwide as a way of generating most of our electrical needs.

Many homeowners are already building their own solar panels to help cut the price tag on the heating bills winter months' time. Some are even making solar panels you can use to heat a swimming pool during the warm months' time.

2. Solar power has been doing use for 1000's of years as seen in many of the architectural structures designed and used by The Greeks and The Chinese. We have seen an increase in the design of homes even more recently that are planned and built for harnessing solar power.

Can Andrei Arlovski Get His 'Bite' Back?

By Ross Everett

One of the stranger sports stories of the past is that of Rick Ankiel. Ankiel became a vital cog in the starting rotation of the 2000 St. Louis Cardinals and as a lefthanded pitcher possessing both velocity and wicked breaking stuff his upside was unlimited. As the playoffs began, injuries had decimated the Cards starting rotation forcing Tony LaRussa to use Ankiel as the game 1 starter against the Atlanta Braves and their ace, Greg Maddux. In the course of an inning, it all fell apart for Rick Ankiel's career as a starting pitcher. In the third inning of game one, working with a 6-0 lead, Ankiel allowed 2 hits, 4 walks and 5 wild pitches before being pulled with two outs. Initially, he wrote it off as a bad outing until history quickly repeated itself in game 2 of the NLCS against the NY Mets. He threw only 20 pitches in that game, 5 of which went past catcher Eli Marrero. For the next several years he tried to fix the control problems that suddenly manifest themselves on baseballs biggest stage but was unable to do so. Compounding the frustration of Ankiel and his team was the fact that his control problems weren't physical or mechanical, but strictly psychological.

Andrei Arlovski has experienced the opposite problem"after starting his career as the Belarusian wildman who devastated opponents with his aggressive, free swinging style and KO power he suddenly gained too *much* control. After trading victories with Tim Sylvia and two short, explosive and exciting bouts, a rubber match was scheduled for UFC 61 and during the fight disaster struck: Arlovski all of a sudden became a tentative and boring fighter.

After a layoff of nearly 6th months, Arlovski returned to the octagon and scored a first round KO of overmatched Marcio Cruz. Another snoozefest ensued at UFC 70, where he decisioned Fabrico Werdum. Arlovskis contract with the UFC was up about this time and Zuffa management quickly made clear that they had no interest in resigning him.

During the past few years many questions have been raised about Arlovskis desire to continue his fighting career and several retirement rumors have made the rounds. The premise underpinning this talk goes like this: Arlovski is more interested in enjoying his newfound fame and wealth after his difficult youth and adolescence in Eastern Europe. Hes got more money than hes ever dreamed of and a nice life in his adopted hometown of Chicago.

Arlovski insists that hes anxious to continue his career and has enlisted the services of one of boxings best trainers, Freddy Roach. Roach has been charged with trying to find a middle ground with Arlovski, somewhere between the wildly reckless style of his early career and the tentative, plodding style of his recent fights. Theres even been talk of Arlovski pursuing a career as a heavyweight boxer which makes a good deal of sense. Arlovskis more tactical striking game would serve him well in the sweet science and the wide open heavyweight division means that he could quickly put himself in a position of a contender.

Baseball fans know that the Rick Ankiel saga has taken a positive turn of late. After giving up his pitching career in 2005, Ankiel transitioned to the outfield and has reached the major leagues *again* at his new position. Maybe this is the type of change that Arlovski needs and one that boxing would afford him. Despite a solid fundamental groundfighting base (Sambo, wrestling and BJJ) Arlovski has never shown much of a desire to take the action to the mat. It could also be the case that MMA has passed him by"dont forget that he entered the sport along with one dimensional fighters like Ricco Rodriguez, Wesley Cabbage Correira and Vladmir Matyushenko. While on paper Arlovski has a well rounded game, for all practical purposes hes a standup specialist. Unlike some of the other fighters that the rapidly changing sport has left behind, Arlovski has the youth and the skill set to transition into boxing where his standup skills would serve him well. It could be that Arlovski still has the heart and desire to fight, but needs to change sports to get back to a championship level of competition.

Pre-Bridal Photography Ideas

By Johnny Wong

Ask any of your married friends about bridal day stress and you will sure to still be talking with them two hours later.

You should not have a care in the world on your wedding day. It should be a totally relaxing and special day.

You will be run off your feet on your wedding day no matter how well you plan your day. But the better you plan then the better your experience will be.

All the stress can be totally assuaged as long as you plan well and get lots of support from your family and friends and your wedding professionals.

Around ten years ago pre-wedding photography came into its own in Singapore as a way to have a more enjoyable actual wedding day. Today it is very popular. With Singapore having a lot of traditional Asian style weddings doing a lot of the main photography before the wedding is often essential. Traditional weddings are involving and detailed and involve usually a large number of people. Getting the main photos done ahead of time is essential.

Smart photographers started offering pre-bridal packages so that all the stress could be taken out of the actual day. So with pre-bridal photography there was no longer any need to rush around to get all the pictures taken. It also removed the risk of the special day photography being totally destroyed by bad weather as well.

Pre wedding packages vary from photographer to photographer so you will have to shop around. Most packages will include outdoor as well as studio shots. Getting a variety of shots will guarantee an interesting album. Ask your photographer what is included in their packages.

As well as ensuring you get a great set of photos for your album, pre-bridal photos mean that you have something special to show at your actual wedding to your guests, which is always nice.

Like all good ideas, pre-wedding photography has caught on around the world. It may not be called pre-bridal photography but the idea still exists. Just ask your professional bridal photographer about including this option when they give you a price.

What Is A Persian Rug?

By Abbie Osborne-Wilson

Everyone knows what a Persian rug is but what it is really, where did it originate, and how was it made when it first came about. When you think of Persian rugs you think of outstanding quality and a craftsmanship that is hard to beat. These rugs are made completely by hand, the weaving and the dying of the materials all done by a person. That alone makes the Persian rug an outstanding thing.

The Persian rug came from what is now Iran, being made well over half a millennium ago for the first time. At that time it was not called a Persian rug, but a carpet, a Payryk. Though not the same as today's Persians still these carpets had an amazing 232 knots per inch.

Business boomed for the next millennium and, by the 16th century, much change had happened in the preferences of carpet buyers in the region. Depictions on carpets grew fewer and rarer, with more buyers preferring to get abstract and geometric patterns instead. The best known Persian carpet, the classical style Ardabil, came from this period and featured a radial arabesque design and a poetic inscription.

The layout and design of a Persian can be different depending on what is made. These patterns will be on one-side, in the central of the rug, or all over. These designs are on almost all Persian rugs that you will find. These designs may mean different things to different people, it just depends on who you ask on what they mean.

Layout and design are considered together when creating Persian rugs. Patterns can usually range from central medallions, all-over designs and one-sided images. Motifs are a big part of design for Persian rugs, and that much is apparent in almost every rug you're likely to see. Different formal motifs can be interpreted to carry different meanings, though several motifs could be used on a single design.

Weaving a Persian rug can be a long and painstaking process. Depending on the size and quality of the rug being made, the piece could take anywhere from several weeks to a few years to complete. Every Persian rug starts out with wefts passing through a warp at the bottom to form a base. Loose knots of colored thread are then attached to adjacent warps, creating the elaborate details visible on rugs. Once done, the end of the warp becomes the fringes, which can be finished off in a braid or tassels. Rugs made by hand can have anywhere from 16 to as many as 550 knots per square inch.

At present, the old industry of making Persian rugs is still a booming business. $420 million worth of carpets were exported in 2008 alone, amounting to 1% of the country's overall exports. About 1.2 million weavers in Iran alone are thought to be actively producing new carpets, so there shouldn't be any risk of running out soon.

Persian rugs remain a premium and classic item for decor, not just because they're attractive themselves but ebecause of the centuries of heritage that they represent. No matter what theme or motif you're doing in your home, a Persian rug will definitely fit in - and stand out - among your decor.

Tattoo After Care

By Rian Haswanda

So, you need to know about tattoo after care because you decide to get a new tattoo!

It might be your first time, or it may be your tenth time, but in every case, you should review your tattoo after care instructions prior to getting your new tattoo. You might wonder about the logic about going through the instructions before getting your new tattoo, but it is like baking a cake, you just don't want to make any mistakes with these instructions because new tattoos are open wounds and susceptible to infection.

You must be attentive to your new tattoo, and keep it as clean as possible to ensure that it heals as cleanly as possible so you prevent infection and have the nicest looking tattoo possible.

While the healing stages of a tattoo will be as unique to each individual with there being people nowadays, the tattoo healing process does follow a general pattern. The specifics of each tattoo's healing process depends on the different skin type of the individual, the position of the tattoo figure, an the techniques of the tattoo artist. These factors can all cause a variance in the healing process from person to person.

You will end up given aftercare instructions by your tattoo artist. These aftercare instructions differ from artist to artist. My recommendation to you is if uncertain about anything, always get back on your tattoo artist before seeking the assistance of a doctor. Your tattoo artist can have a look at your tattoo and tell how to proceed if there is a problem to correct any healing problems.

If your tattoo artist cannot help, they should send you for medical attention from a doctor. If they don't, then of course, you must go yourself to be sure that your health is not at risk. Here's your responsibility.

Many times doctors aren't aware about tattoos and will prescribe unnecessary medications that may harm your tattoo's healing process. Some doctors may even be biased against tattoos. That's the reason I suggest that you go to the tattoo artist first if you suspect there is a healing problem with your new tattoo. The artist works with tattoos day in and day out and knows the best way to heal their work.

When you leave the tattoo studio, you'll find a bandage on your new tattoo to protect it from outside contact. This bandage should be removed 2- 3 hours after getting your tattoo. Your tattoo may bleed a little for the first 24 hours, remember, your new tattoo is akin to an open wound.

Before you remove your bandage, make sure to wash your hands with soap and warm water, in between the fingers, and under the fingernails. Then dry your hands with a clean paper towel. Don't use any old towel that is laying on it, or possibly a clean towel as lint may be transferred to your hands.

Ensure you have not let a substantial amount blood dry on your bandage so that it sticks. Be very, very gentle as you remove your bandage so as not to start the tattoo bleeding again. If you just rip off your bandage, you can mess up the look of your new tattoo, and you won't want to do that, now do you?

Wash your tattoo gently, very gently with anti-bacterial soap and water to clean it. Do not scrub your tattoo, don't use a washcloth, or anything else other than your fingers or hand to clean the tattoo. Do not rub, but "pat" the tattoo as you wash it. Then, when you are finished pat the tattoo dry with a clean dry paper towel. Or, use clean toilet paper even, without any paper towels on hand.

Let your tattoo air dry for 15 minutes or so. This will promote healing.

After your tattoo has dried, apply a few drops of Emu Oil to your tattoo. The presence of efa's along with the hyper-oxygenation of Emu Oil naturally increases the circulation to the applied area which explains why Emu Oil works so well and so quickly to heal.

Even though it is an oil, it's been proved that Emu Oil does not clog pores (unlike most commercially made tattoo aftercare products that are petroleum based), therefore allowing the skin to breathe during the healing process. Emu Oil penetrates through all seven layers on the epidermis and is rich in nutrients (essential fatty acids) that feed the skin to aid in new cell development that can hasten the healing process. Emu Oil is a natural emollient keeping the skin moist and pliable.

The application of the Emu Oil immediately after the tattoo has been cleaned will also relieve the discomfort and reduce the inflammation and redness of the new tattoo. Emu Oil will help set the new colors due to its deep penetrating properties and will help reduce plasma oozing.

Using Emu Oil 2-3 times a day after repeating the cleaning process while the tattoo heals will keep the area moist reducing or eliminating the flaking or scabbing that often occurs as new tattoos heal. Emu Oil can prevent the need for touch ups which saves the artist time and money, and makes for a happy tattoo customer.

New tattoos will look red and swollen immediately following the tattoo procedure. The tattoo will continue to appear this way a couple of days throughout the tattoo healing process. Within a week to ten days the skin surrounding the tattoo should be more normal again - most tattoos are completely healed in three weeks time.

While it is healing it is crucial not to do the following things or you may damage your tattoo:

- Do Not scratch your new tattoo

- Do Not pick at your new tattoo

- Do Not expose your tattoo to sunlight or tanning beds under any circumstances

- No swimming, hot tubs or baths the first two weeks after getting your new tattoo

- Do Not shave the tattooed area for around 30 days following the tattoo procedure

- Only touch your tattoo with clean hands, do not let others touch your tattoo

Not only is Emu Oil good for healing new tattoos, it is good for restoring older, aged, sun damaged tattoos as well. This is a result of the natural hyper-oxygenation of Emu Oil which brings blood and oxygen to the surface on the skin. This, coupled with Emu Oil's ability to moisturize through all seven layers on the skin, allows users to see quick results when the oil is applied to older tattoos.

With the proper care of your tattoo from the start, there's no reason why you shouldn't enjoy the beauty of your tattoo for lifelong.

Solar Energy Facts - Energy Aware And Waste Wise

By David Copper

Constantly bombarded with negative information regarding the environment, finances and natural resources? Feeling overwhelmed? Every single one of us can do something to help our world - starting right where we are, right now. Though not everybody can afford to donate cash or time to a cause, you will find endless tactics that will lower an individual's contribution to the landfill and their resource consumption.

Mirrors, positioned strategically in a room can be used to make use of natural lighting much more efficiently, and reduce energy use too. When placed near indoor plants, mirrors work like a second window creating much better growing conditions whilst giving the optical illusion of expanded space and greenery to the ambiance of a room.

When loading the clothes dryer, fluff the wet and tangled laundry before tossing into the machine. This allows for instant and more effective use of dryer energy. Really hot settings (which can actually shrink clothing) can therefore be prevented.

Usually, the heated air from a clothes dryer is pumped outside and wasted. Consider purchasing a dryer vent converter - obtainable at nearly all hardware stores. They are little boxes that divert the heated air from the dryer into your home throughout the cold and dry winter months - making better usage of your energy dollar whilst saving slightly on heating costs. Be cautioned that this air is moist, and this might not be appropriate in most situations. Houses with dry static air or wood heat would profit from the moisture, but buildings that already have a moisture problem (evident by mould and mildew or sweating and frosted windows) will only have their problems compounded by doing this.

Instead of buying disposable dryer sheets for static control, consider using a liquid fabric softener with a reused rag or sock. Pour a Tablespoon of the liquid on the rag, roll it up and squeeze (to absorb all of the softener) and toss in the dryer. Wash the rag periodically by throwing it in with a normal load. Simply picture the number of dryer sheets, the packaging they came in, along with the expenses, energy and resources to produce them that may be prevented by this one basic act.

These are just a few ideas to illustrate how easy it is to make a difference while saving some money. Imagine how many other little things you can do all over the house or office. Once the ideas have begun to flow, they will bring about a ripple effect cascading into other aspects of your life. After that, hopefully, you will think twice before throwing anything into the trash.
